“Bed” doesn’t fully describe this piece. It is a bed, yes, but also a chest of drawers with a lot of storage, two nightstands and a console table. By utilizing the vast space below the king sized mattress, ample storage is right at hand, yet almost invisible - and it does not prevent getting a vacuum cleaner from getting to those stray dust bunnies. The nightstands are moveable and remove-able and do not get in the way of the drawers below them. Finally, the shelf behind the headboard provides a great spot for lamps or books or glasses of water to be accessible, but out of the way; and if it is ever deemed unnecessary for a period of time (or for transport) the shelf can be folded down. 

 The details of this bed provide just enough visual pop to pull the observer in and take the eye on a tour without getting in the way of the warm walnut and the elegant curly maple.
